Money income constant demand

這是指在 money income 不變下，價格與需求量的關係。

假定 money income 不變，當 Good X 的價格下降，將有以下影嚮：

1. Real income 上升 ，需求量會因此而改變，這是 income effect。
2. Good X 相對其他物品的價格下降 (relative price of X decreases)，需求量會因此而改變，這是 substitution effect。

因此，當價格下降，若我們假設 money income 不變，需求量的改變應是 income effect 和 substitution effect 的總和。

Real income constant demand

這是指在 real income 不變下，價格與需求量的關係。換句話說：real income constant demand 所顯示的 price-quantity demanded relationship 是只有 substitution effect ，而沒有 income effect 的。

	價格轉變導致的需求量改變
Money income constant demand	= substitution effect + income effect
Real income constant demand	= substitution effect

若 income effect = 0，無論是 real income constant 或是 money income constant，價格改變所導致的需求量轉變都會一樣，real income constant demand 和 money income constant demand 將一致 (slope 相同)。

但若 income effect 不是零，則 real income constant demand 和 money income constant demand 將不一樣。
